“Pebbles is an abstract art exhibition that delves into the complexities of time, emotion, and the marks we leave and receive. Through trauma and depression, we are often worn down, accumulating scars that shape our journeys, these marks become part of our soul’s beauty. We are also gifted small, meaningful acts of love—these ‘pebbles’—help us grow beyond our pain, guiding us toward healing and transformation. Inspired by the pebbling rituals of penguins, the show reflects how these tiny tokens ripple through our lives, nurturing growth on both intimate and broader scales.
The pieces in this collection echo the layered experience of human emotion. Each artwork builds upon multiple layers of paint, revealing depths of color, texture, and hidden messages, mirroring the complexity of life’s trials and triumphs. The process of ‘building up and tearing down’ these layers reflects how time, like paint, both conceals and reveals, allowing hidden truths to emerge through the evisceration of each surface.
Traces of writing and meaning are embedded within these pieces, suggesting how, over time, what is buried can be discovered, healed, or transformed.
These layers speak to how we carry our histories with us—the growth, the wear, and the love that ultimately define us. Each stroke and texture invites the viewer to reflect on their journey: to explore their own hidden layers and scars and to find strength in the ripples of love and healing that move through their lives.”
