Five15Arts Collective Adds Five Artists
Five15Arts @ Chartreuse is proud to announce the new members joining the collective. After a two-month search that included a review of their artwork and in-person interviews, five Phoenix-area artists were selected to join the well-known artist-run gallery for its upcoming term.
Victoria Lindley’s abstracted landscapes translate nature into vibrant color and captivating patterns, calling attention to both the vibrancy and vulnerability of the desert flora.
Charissa Lucille uses the mediums of textiles, photography, and zines to explore their identity and activism as it relates to disability, neurodiversity, and queerness.
Amy Menousek is a conceptual artist whose work explores themes of identity, power and the female experience, often utilizing unconventional materials to challenge traditional narratives.
Elissa Nowacki’s paintings are characterized by a vivid, dynamic palette and the tactile quality of thick, layered paint, drawing the viewer in with the physicality of the surfaces.
Lynda Schlosberg’s paintings are constructed using a series of interwoven layers of repeating patterns of dots, dashes, and grids, in highly saturated and vibrant colors, suggesting a sea of vibrating energy.
These exciting newcomers join returning Five15Arts @ Chartreuse members Bob Allen, Sheri Ashton, Dan Friedman, Marlys Kubicek, Harold Lohner, Daniel Prendergast, and Wendy Raisanen. Together, they present a 12-month gallery calendar that includes a mix of solo shows by members and group shows that often include guest artists. Five15Arts is an essential stop on every First Friday and remains a showcase for Phoenix artists for over 20 years.
